The album features a wide range of samples and instrumentation, with many aspects of alternative hip hop that would come to dominate the hip hop music scene in the mid-late 1990s. The Score's production was handled mostly by the Fugees themselves and Jerry Duplessis, with additional production from Salaam Remi, John Forté, Diamond D, and Shawn King. The album's guest raps are from Outsidaz' members Rah Digga, Young Zee and Pacewon, as well as Omega, John Forté, and Diamond D. Most versions of the album feature four bonus tracks, including three remixes of "Fu-Gee-La", and a short acoustic Wyclef Jean solo track entitled "Mista Mista." Upon it's release, The Score was a commercial success, peaking at the number one spot on both the Billboard 200, and the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart (it was a number-one album on the latter in 1996 on the year-end chart). The singles "Killing Me Softly, " "Fu-Gee-La, " and "Ready or Not" also achieved notable chart success, and helped the group achieve worldwide recognition. On October 3, 1997, The Score was certified six times platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In addition to receiving mostly favorable reviews upon it's release, the album has garnered a considerable amount of acclaim over the years, with many music critics and publications noting it as one of the greatest albums of the 1990s, as well as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. In 1998, the album was included in The Source's 100 best rap albums list, and in 2003, it was ranked number 477 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Tracklist

A1        Red Intro
A2        How Many Mics
A3        Ready Or Not
A4        Zealots
A5        The Beast
B1        Fu-Gee-La
B2        Family Business
B3 Killing Me Softly With His Song
C1        The Score
C2        The Mask
C3        Cowboys
D1        No Woman, No Cry
D2        Manifest / Outro

*Audio and/or tracklist may vary slightly from the vinyl version.

Label: SONY UK
Rel. The album opens with several big-fisted guitar chord numbers, which translated perfectly to the arenas they were then playing regularly. It's also important to note that these riff-driven songs are from the band who practically wrote the book on riff-heavy songs when "You Really Got Me" came blasting out of radios seventeen years before. The album includes a couple of hit singles--"Come Dancing" and "Don't Forget To Dance"--both of which employ moderate volume and propulsion (in contrast with some of their other singles from the era). The album's title is apt, as these are some of Ray Davies bleakest looks at the world around him-and the songs are consequently full of lost love, disappearing circumstances, and dreams put on hold. "Property," for example, details the dissolution of a marriage in stark, sad simplicity.

Genre: Rock

RSD Date: DDD

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/The-Kinks-State-Of-Confusion-_XHh1z.jpg?v=1741088658
marvin-gaye-i-heard-it-through-the-grapevine-purple-lp
I Heard It Through The Grapevine [Purple LP]

I Heard It Through The Grapevine [Purple LP] is a Records & LPs from Marvin Gaye

Genre: Pop

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Marvin-Gaye-I-Heard-It-Through-The-Grapevine-Purple-LP_XIeNl.jpg?v=1742432590
kids-sees-ghosts-kanye-west-kid-cudi-kids-sees-ghosts
Kids Sees Ghosts

Released a week after Kanye West's messy eighth album, Ye, the eponymous debut effort from Kids See Ghosts -- West and Kid Cudi's rap superduo -- became inseparable from its predecessor's narrative, both warranting that album's merit and improving upon its ideas with superior production, imagination, and listenability. Kids See Ghosts is another seven-track effort recorded alongside a handful of others during West's so-called Wyoming Sessions. Following the arrivals of Pusha T's Daytona and West's Ye, Kids See Ghosts not only emerges atop the Wyoming Sessions ranks, but also as a top release in either artist's respective catalogs. Fully-realized and lushly layered, KSG is the culmination of a long and fruitful relationship between West and Cudi, one that peaked on 2008's emo-rap progenitor 808s & Heartbreak and continued over a decade. No time is wasted here and, even though KSG satisfies, it leaves listeners craving much more. Continuing where Ye's insular and complicated mental health therapy session left off, KSG turns the darkness and confusion around with sharp focus and a dose of optimism. In top form, West handles most of the production -- from the Gorillaz-esque stomp of "Fire" to the haunting title track -- while offering choice verses alongside guests Pusha T (the Yeezus-y "Feel the Love"), Ty Dolla $ign ("4th Dimension"), 808s' comrade Mr. Hudson ("Cudi Montage"), and Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) ("Kids See Ghosts"). Meanwhile, Cudi handles the bulk of the vocal duties and provides a figurative shoulder on which West can lean. This support is vital for KSG's allure, as the two bounce off each other effortlessly, an alchemy produced by their shared demons and struggles. For once, Cudi sounds like the one who has it together, the apprentice supporting his former mentor. On an album of highlights, "4th Dimension" and "Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)" are standouts, as exciting and vital as anything West produced in his early-2000s golden years. Sampling Louis Prima's swinging holiday track "What Will Santa Claus Say," the former features KSG's best flow, which, when the hard beat clicks into step with Cudi's verse, is a thrill; while the latter track builds upon the brief glimmer of hope offered on Ye's "Ghost Town" in a bold and exciting moment of triumph as West proclaims, "Nothing hurts me anymore/Guess what, baby? I am free." That energy is peppered throughout, from the mantras of "Reborn" ("I'm so reborn/I'm moving forward") to the Kurt Cobain-sampling "Cudi Montage," where the song's namesake repeats "Stay strong/Lord, shine your light on me/Save me please." Kids See Ghosts is everything Ye wasn't, delivering a worthwhile listen in spite of the extended PR disaster that preceded its release. With Cudi as the yang to West's yin, the pair inch closer to finding peace and a light in the darkness. ~ Neil Z. Institute for the Musical Arts, Goshen, Massachusetts; Lucy's Meat Market, Los Angeles, CA; Omelette Station, NYC; The Doghouse Studio, Los Angeles, CA.
It may be hard to believe, but 2018's Christmas Party is the first Christmas record the Monkees ever released. Chalk this up to the band breaking up in 1970, long before Christmas records were common among rockers, but 2018 is also the right time for the Monkees to deliver a Christmas record because the group figured out how to make the right kind of modern Monkees album with 2016's Good Times! A clever combination of made-to-order originals and gussied-up old recordings, the Adam Schlesinger-produced Good Times! managed to feel simultaneously fresh and familiar, a combination that lends itself well to holiday albums. Christmas Party contains many of the same collaborators as Good Times! -- Schlesinger returns as producer and he co-wrote "House of Broken Gingerbread" with Michael Chabon, while Andy Partridge, Rivers Cuomo, and Peter Buck & Scott McCaughey all deliver new songs -- and it has the same feel, blurring the lines between the past and present so thoroughly that it no longer matters to discover where they're separated. Schlesinger's presence is also a tell that Christmas Party leans into power pop: the back half contains versions of Alex Chilton's "Jesus Christ," Roy Wood's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day," and Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," each sounding at home in this smartly self-referential version of the Monkees. If the two Davy Jones songs aren't as successful as those on Good Times!, it's only because the tracks date from somewhere after the '60s, so he's not as boyish as he sounded on the last record. Then again, both Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork carry their ages well, helping to give this a nice sentimental undercurrent, while Micky Dolenz remains something of a small wonder. All these years later, he sounds cheerful and committed singing these songs, acting out the Partridge, Cuomo, and Buck & McCaughey songs with gusto, and his enthusiasm is infectious. He's having a great time, as is everybody else making the record, and it's hard for the listener at home not to smile too. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Genre: Christmas / Chanukkah

RSD Date: n/a

Format: CD

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/The-Monkees-The-Christmas-Party_I7ztJ.jpg?v=1740716949
eric-clapton-happy-xmas
Happy Xmas
Happy Xmas, Eric Clapton's first Christmas record in a career that's spanned over four and a half decades, certainly bears its share of seasonal charm, but it's also of a piece with the warm, amiable music he's made in the 2010s. Like Old Sock and I Still Do before it, Happy Xmas relies on songs from other songwriters (he wrote only one tune, the slow-burning "For Love on Xmas Day") and cooks to a cozy groove that's grounded in the blues but also encompasses soul, reggae, rock, and a bit of vaudeville shuffle ("Xmas in My Hometown"). This homey atmosphere is certainly suited for the season, even if it rarely sounds like a typical holiday record. Chalk that up to Clapton studiously avoiding a reliance on shopworn carols. When he does play an overly familiar tune, he switches it up: he opens up the affair with a blues rendition of "White Christmas," "Silent Night" is given a reggae bounce, "Away in a Manger" has a soulful underpinning, and he turns "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" into a seduction. These clever interpretations are nestled alongside nice holiday chestnuts, turning this into a comforting Christmas listen. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Genre: Christmas / Chanukkah

RSD Date: n/a

Format: CD

Released: 10/12/2018

Synthesis Live [CD/Blu-Ray] is a Music CDs from Evanescence

Genre: Rock

Format: CD

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Evanescence-Synthesis-Live-CDBlu-Ray_sWQVk_aecfc215-187b-4a0d-8d79-4857125c06ff.jpg?v=1759454771
fleetwood-mac-the-dance
| The Dance (2LP)

The Dance is a live album from Fleetwood Mac, released in 1997. THE DANCE was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. "Silver Springs" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "The Chain" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. Inasmuch as Fleetwood Mac's classic 1970s albums drew much of their charm from their quirky arrangements and fastidious studio craft, it's a bit odd that the band would choose to reunite with a live, largely unplugged album. But somehow, the first album by the Fleetwood-McVie-McVie-Buckingham-Nicks lineup since 1987's TANGO IN THE NIGHT manages to recapture a good deal of the old feel, which had a lot to do with three very different singer-songwriters agreeing to live together under the umbrella of a single flexible rhythm section. After dispensing with the group effort "The Chain," which leads off this set, the reconstituted Mac spends the rest of the album showing off its separate parts for the distinct elements they are, while mixing a few new songs into a collection of classics. Lindsey Buckingham rips through the late-period hit "Big Love" unaccompanied, compensating for his shrinking vocal range with some blistering guitar picking. Stevie Nicks stretches out "Rhiannon" like one of her flowing dresses, with a piano-ballad opening. Christine McVie, whose alluring, matronly rock voice remains undiminished, offers the lovely new "Temporary One," which, one hopes, doesn't describe this reunion.

Tracklist

A1        The Chain
A2        Dreams
A3        Everywhere
A4        Rhiannon
B1        I'm So Afraid
B2        Temporary One
B3        Bleed To Love Her
B4        Big Love
C1        Landslide
C2        Say You Love Me
C3        My Little Demon
C4        Silver Springs
D1        You Make Loving Fun
D2        Sweet Girl
D3        Go Your Own Way
D4        Tusk
D5        Don't Stop

*Audio and/or tracklist may vary slightly from the vinyl version.

Label: ‎‎‎Rhino/Warner Records
Rel. In 2017, Costello staged a concert tour in which he re-imagined the songs from that LP, and while that may or may not have put those tunes and their style back into his mind, 2018's Look Now certainly is an extension of the mature and literate pop songwriting that he first fully embraced in that material. Look Now often feels like a cross between Imperial Bedroom and Painted from Memory, Costello's 1998 collaboration with Burt Bacharach, and not just because Bacharach co-wrote three tracks with Costello. (Another pop tunesmith in the classic tradition, Carole King, also helped compose one of the tunes, "Burnt Sugar Is So Bitter.") Look Now isn't rock & roll so much as it's pop that blends the craft of classic Brill Building tunes of the '60s with the narrative maturity of classic Broadway musicals and the sort of ballads that were once the purview of classic jazz vocalists. If you're the sort of Costello fan who lives in hope that he's going to make another This Year's Model or Blood & Chocolate someday, Look Now will not be your cup of tea. But if you're in the mood for a set of world-class songs dealing with grown-up themes and performed with nuance and a master's touch, you could hardly do better. As a vocalist, Costello's phrasing and ability to inhabit a character has rarely been more assured, so much so that he sings a few songs from the point of view of a female protagonist and makes them work (including "He's Given Me Things" and "Unwanted Number," the latter written for the film Grace of My Heart). The arrangements are artful and evocative, with subtle applications of strings and backing vocalists and pianist Steve Nieve once again reminding us why he's been one of Costello's most valued musical partners since the late '70s. And while there are just enough sharp angles in "Under Lime" and "Mr. & Mrs. Hush" to remind us this is indeed Elvis Costello, Look Now is the work of a man with enough talent to take his muse in any direction he pleases and give us something memorable. In 1978, the Arrogant Young Mr. Costello famously said, "I'm not going to be around to witness my artistic decline," and 40 years on, Look Now proves he's still living up to that claim. ~ Mark Deming

Genre: Rock

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Elvis-Costello-The-Imposters-Look-Now-LP_D9HIH.jpg?v=1742429336
st-vincent-masseducation-explicit-content
MassEducation [Explicit Content]
Even as her albums and concerts become more ambitious, St. Vincent's Annie Clark wouldn't be anywhere without the fundamentals she reminds listeners of with MassEducation. Recorded over a couple of evenings during MASSEDUCTION's mixing sessions, on the album Clark and pianist Thomas Bartlett strip down the album's songs to reveal new layers of closeness and distance, sincerity and artifice. It's a given that ballads like "Slow Disco," "Happy Birthday, Johnny," and "New York" sound as good, if not better, here than they did with MASSEDUCTION's glossy, intricate productions, but MassEducation is arguably most interesting when Clark reinvents the album's most synthetic-sounding pop songs. "Los Ageless" finds new life as a slinky torch ballad, while "Sugarboy" sounds even more reckless without a drumbeat holding it down. Clark and Bartlett get especially creative with the arrangements on "Pills," which shift from a nagging, rumbling low end to fizzy, high arpeggios, and "Savior," where Bartlett's rippling playing unleashes the song's pathos as much as Clark's singing. Long celebrated as a skilled storyteller and keen observer of life's twists and turns, Hiatt can get at the heart of a knotty emotion or a moment in time with just a sharp, incisive lyric or witty turn of phrase. The 11 tracks presented in The Eclipse Sessions, from the breezy opener ''Cry to Me,'' to the stark ''Nothing in My Heart,'' the lost-love lamentation ''Aces Up Your Sleeve'' to the rollicking ''Poor Imitation of God,'' demonstrate that the singer-songwriter, now 66, is only getting better with age, his guitar playing more rugged and rootsy, his words wiser and more wry.    Hiatt goes all in with The Eclipse Sessions. There's a grit to these songs' a craggy, perfectly-imperfect quality that colors every aspect of the performances, right down to Hiatt's vocals, which are quite possibly his most raw and expressive to date. Cypress Hill, active since 1988 and best known for their weed-friendly gangsta rap hits from the '90s, could easily rewrite and revisit the ideas that made them famous for the rest of their days and fans would delight in the familiarity. Certainly, Elephants on Acid, Cypress Hill's ninth studio album and first since 2010's Rise Up, is full of their trademarks -- hits from the bong, puffed-up bravado, and ominously creepy flows or sunny stoned soliloquies. Less expected is a creative rebirth from a cartoonish crew that could rest on their past accomplishments and enjoy life as a legacy act. Elephants on Acid is just that, however, a deeply imaginative and risky set of new material from a group of old heads still interested in pushing their craft to new places. The 21-track album is the first collection produced by DJ Muggs since 2004's 'Til Death Do Us Part. Muggs' signature siren squalls and booming bass have morphed into a drifting, psychedelic treasure chest here, with trippy beats meeting multiple instrumental interludes. Some sessions for the album took place in Egypt, where Muggs not only hired street performers to play sitar, oud, flute, and other live instruments, but also worked with Egyptian pop vocalists Sadat and Alaa Fifty Cent who sing the chorus for single "Band of Gypsies." B Real's wheezing rhymes here are standard, but the backdrop of searing guitar solos and hazy, loping percussion put a psychedelic filter on the song informed by both the country where it was recorded and a heavy classic rock influence. Adventurous production on the cloudy, organ-heavy "Jesus Was a Stoner" and the horror-movie-soundtrack-anxiety of "Pass the Knife" are eons ahead of the frantic stoner rap the group made their name on. Repeat listens locate Muggs at the core of the album's creative push. He built the tracks here mostly from scratch, using a single Hiroshima sample and otherwise working with other musicians or playing all of the instruments himself, resampling his own work until it sounded like the worn-out vinyl sources he grew up working with. Elephants on Acid breaks new ground for Cypress Hill, but they don't commit entirely to an artistic about face. Pressure cooker tracks like "Put Em in the Ground" and "Locos" split the difference between Muggs' sonic exploration and the group's time-tested approach. There's a cheese factor here, as well. Formulaic romps like "Crazy" and "Through the Rabbit Hole" are pandering, cobbled together from tired big beats and too-stoned lyrics. They aim for the zany energy of the group's glory days but land closer to Insane Clown Posse levels of mediocrity. Ultimately, superfans might be polarized by the experimental musings of Elephants on Acid, but those with some distance will find this curiously assembled collection pleasantly puzzling in its layers of trippy appeal. Something this unexpected from such an established act can't help but feel refreshing. ~ Fred Thomas

Genre: Pop

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Cypress-Hill-ELEPHANTS-ON-ACID_SiMiw.jpg?v=1759020972
eric-clapton-happy-xmas-1
Singer/guitarist Lindsay Buckingham's production still boasts pleasing quirks aplenty ("Red Rover," "Murrow Turning Over in His Grave"), and his trademark acoustic fingerpicking licks underpin many of the tunes in a winning way. Buckingham and Stevie Nicks share the songwriting duties, and their writing and singing styles still mesh as well as they did in their pre-Mac days as Buckingham /Nicks. And after weathering a noticeable sophomore slump with 1998's often lackluster Time Travelling Blues, the quintet members probably knew they needed to come up with a strong showing the third time around in order to prove their worth. Early believers already knew that here was a supremely competent set of musicians, who managed to borrow most of the basic elements laid down by their stoner metal forefathers (Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Acrimony) without actually sounding too much like any of them. But their still developing songwriting skills hadn't really allowed them to stand out from that of other solid second-generation stoners, as of yet. Thankfully, their third opus, The Big Black, took a quantum leap in that direction by boasting Orange Goblin's most consistent and memorable batch of tunes thus far. The explosive power of opener "Scorpionica" immediately hints at this development, and further highlights like "Quincy the Pigboy" and the ultra-spacy "Cozmo Bozo" quickly confirm the listener's hopes. The propulsive, mad dervish of "Turbo Effalunt (Elephant)" (no doubt a stoned mispronunciation done good) provides as straightforward a head-banging delight as the band has ever committed to wax, and lengthy space rock jams like the title track also tend to avoid the excessive mucking about of previous years. Also conspicuously absent are the generally disposable organ accompaniments, which had cluttered the band's first two outings. This timely release also arrived as the Goblin's biggest UK competitors for stoner rock supremacy (Electric Wizard, Cathedral) were temporarily out of commission, helping the band attract many new fans as well as significantly more media attention. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

Genre: Pop

RSD Date: DDD

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

Elvis Costello had already taken a few steps from the "angry young man" persona that dominated his first two albums by the time he began work on 1982's Imperial Bedroom, but that was the disc where his evolution from brash upsetter to gifted pop craftsman began in earnest.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/elvis-costello-the-imposters-look-now-2-lpdeluxe-edition_iuybY.jpg?v=1759016164
black-joe-lewis-the-honeybears-the-difference-between-me-you-lp
The Difference Between Me & You [LP]
Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears | The Difference Between Me & You | Vinyl | Release Date: 10/12/2018

Genre: Rock

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/black-joe-lewis-the-honeybears-the-difference-between-me-you-lp_JnCzJ.jpg?v=1759351077
the-groundhogs-blues-obituary-blue-vinyl
Blues Obituary (Blue Vinyl)
The Groundhogs were one of the best bands of the 1960s British blues boom, and by the time they released their 1969 album, BLUES OBITUARY, they had already toured and recorded with John Lee Hooker. But first things first: except for retreating just a tad from the overt punk-metal of its predecessor, Coup de Grace, Thieving from the House of God retains the same, appropriately thick and meaty post-stoner rock crunch -- neither here nor there in terms of outright hard rock or heavy metal -- that Orange Goblin fans have come to expect. "Some You Win, Some You Lose" gets the ball rolling in promising fashion and the novelty of counterpoint vocals in the chorus; and ensuing hard rockers like "Hard Luck" and "Black Egg" each manage a few surprises between them -- be it in the former's clever lyrics, or the latter's striking use of piercing, soulful female vocals. But prospects quickly grow dim with the forgettable "One Room, One Axe, One Outcome" (which has only its name to call interesting), and any hopes that Orange Goblin will magically conjure a truly great single or minor metal classic are duly squashed as one moves through the album. The mounting riff-fest of "Round Up the Horses" momentarily harkens back to the giant, Sabbath-sized power chords of the band's early LPs, but all it signals in the end is a strong, not thrilling, finale driven by the friendly countenance of ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid," and the mildly interesting, nine-minute, sub-space sprawl of "Crown of Locusts." More than anything, Thieving from the House of God leaves very contradictory feelings in its wake. On the one hand, there's a positive notion of "mission accomplished" for the band's transition into existence as a quartet; but on the other, there's a negative and worrisome sense of "what now?" realization suggesting that, despite their best efforts, Orange Goblin may well be doomed to always remain a very good hard rock/heavy metal band which may never amount to a truly great hard rock/heavy metal band. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

Genre: Pop

RSD Date: DDD

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/orange-goblin-thieving-from-the-ho_8mtfK.jpg?v=1741087850
orange-goblin-coup-de-grace
| Coup De Grace (LP)

With the stoner rock movement seemingly finally and unequivocally headed toward extinction, along with many of its last champions (the once-mighty Monster Magnet dropped, the promising Unida left in unreleased album limbo, the dependable Fu Manchu still going nowhere fast, and the eclectic Queens of the Stone Age transforming into something altogether other), it was no surprise to see Orange Goblin, one of England's foremost purveyors of the genre, looking for the exit sign as well. And that's just what they did on their fourth album, Coup de Grace, dispensing with the last remnants of their ultra-baked, space rock musings (given a final, discreet spin on instrumental "Graviton") to deliver what is essentially a straight-up hard rock album...remember those? Produced by stoner rock veteran Scott Reeder (Kyuss, Unida), ironically enough, Coup de Grace introduces a much more immediate, in your face, almost punky Orange Goblin and, in the process, completely re-packages the band for the next phase of their career by adopting the cartoonish horror flick artwork usually associated with White Zombie. Rough and raw hard rockers like "Your World Will Hate This" and first single "Monkey Panic" quickly establish this "new orange order," which also includes a very faithful cover of the old Misfits staple "We Bite" (where vocalist Ben Ward does his best Glenn Danzig karaoke). "Made of Rats" and album highlight "Jesus Beater" don't just feature a cameo, but a full-on co-lead vocal performance from another Kyuss alum, John Garcia (whose voice, it must be said, remains one of the finest of his generation), and the also excellent "Getting High on the Bad Times" and "Rage of Angels" offer the most promising signs of things to come. In short, Coup de Grace is obviously a transitional effort for Orange Goblin -- a not yet fully formed blueprint of where they really intend to go from here. Therefore, though it's heavy as hell and at least as good as its predecessor, The Big Black, whether Coup de Grace will be the most representative Orange Goblin album remains to be seen.

Tracklist

A1 Your World Will Hate This
A2        Monkey Panic
A3        Rage Of Angels
A4        Made Of Rats
B1        Whiskey Leech
B2 Getting High On The Bad Times
B3        Graviton
B4        Red Web
C1        Born With Big Hands
C2        Jesus Beater
C3        We Bite
C4        Stinkin' O' Gin

*Audio and/or tracklist may vary slightly from the vinyl version.

Label: RABO
Rel. Early 2005 saw the arrival of MESMERIZE. After that album gained significant exposure via tours, radio, and videos, the album's counterpart, HYPNOTIZE, was released in late November. The albums were recorded in the same sessions--so there is a strong sense of musical cohesion, and even the CD packages themselves are designed to fit together to form one set.
"Attack" and "Dreaming" the first songs on HYPNOTIZE, are classic System of a Down with their furious riffage, schizophrenic song structures, and the slinky, nasal vocals of lead singer Serj Tankian. The band knows how to craft a hook ("Kill Rock 'N Roll," "She's Like Heroin"), raise political consciousness ("Stealing Society" is about the Armenian genocide), and rock with the ferocity of the heaviest speed and thrash metal bands. In short, System of a Down seems capable of doing anything, and HYPNOTIZE is further, indisputable proof of that fact.

Genre: Rock

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Fear Factory: Burton C. On OBSOLETE, the band owes much of its sound to thrash metal, with churning, gut-punching guitar riffs, sore-throat-from-hell vocals and an unrelentingly ominous mood. What separates Fear Factory from more traditionally inclined thrashers is their aforementioned incorporation of synths to help set the mood. Guest Rhys Fulber's keyboards function both as ambient pads to help establish atmosphere and as melodic elements, underscoring chord progressions. There's even a string section orchestrating the band's more melodic cuts. Those seemingly disparate elements were never more sharply juxtaposed for Kansas than on their self-titled 1974 debut. The album leads off with two short, punchy rockers ("Can I Tell You," "Bringing It Back") that could have come off a James Gang album. The violin-and-piano-led power ballad ("Lonely Wind") is the transition point, after which Kansas leaps fully into the prog-rock breach. It's hard to imagine more prog-sounding titles than "Journey from Mariabronn" and "Death of Mother Nature Suite," and the tracks live up to their names, with daunting time signatures, dazzling solos, complex counterpoint, and flashy synth, guitar, and violin riffs darting to and fro like the American Midwest's answer to THICK AS A BRICK. The two sides of Kansas's musical personality would become more integrated over time, but it's interesting to hear them in this early stage of development.

Genre: Pop

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

Brand New Sealed | Atreyu | In Our Wake [LP] | Vinyl | Release Date: 10/12/2018

Genre: Rock

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

TracksCredits
- Disc 1 -
1 1. Once Let's Dance went supernova in 1983, as it was designed to do, Bowie's productivity slowed to a crawl: he knocked out the sequel, Tonight, in a year, then took three to deliver Never Let Me Down. By the end of the decade, he rediscovered his muse via the guitar skronk of Tin Machine, but Loving the Alien cuts off with Never Let Me Down, presented both in its original version and in a new incarnation containing tasteful instrumentation recorded in the wake of Bowie's death. Spearheaded by producer Mario J. McNulty, this revision of Never Let Me Down had been brewing in Bowie's mind for some time -- McNulty pegs it to his 2008 remix of "Time Will Crawl," guitarist Reeves Gabrels maintains Bowie discussed re-recording songs as early as the album's supporting Glass Spider tour -- so its existence isn't exactly sacrilege, even if it's not exactly a success, either. The new Never Let Me Down is neither fish nor fowl: it's not radical enough to be a reimagined record -- its core remains the same -- and without its ornamental period feel, it seems trapped out of time. The same can't be said of the rest of Loving the Alien, which goes overboard on period charm. Alongside remastered versions of the three main records and the new Never Let Me Down, there are two live albums sourced that mirror home videos -- Serious Moonlight (Live 1983) and Glass Spider -- the fourth installment of Re:Call, which gathers stray songs and non-LP singles and Dance, a two-disc collection of remixes that was originally planned for a 1985 release but scrapped. Each of these records are filled with bright, clanging, pastel colors and clean, sharp edges -- the aesthetic of MTV, which Bowie helped define with Let's Dance. Once his gambit for superstardom worked, he experienced a brief creative paralysis. He made a handful of classic songs in the mid-'80s, but it's telling that apart from "Blue Jean," the single that greatly outshone its parent album Tonight, these were non-LP singles: "Absolute Beginners" and "This Is Not America" found him exploring avenues his hit-hungry albums wouldn't allow. The fascinating thing about Loving the Alien is how it makes this period seem more interesting than the individual albums, and that's entirely due to the dance mixes, ephemera, and awkward live material. On these byways, it's possible to hear Bowie grapple with both his past and present in a hungry fashion and that desperation is alien to Bowie, so an immersion into this unease makes for compelling listening. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Genre: Pop

RSD Date: n/a

Format: CD

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/david-bowie-loving-the-alien-1983-198811cd_4dOGD.jpg?v=1740715672
holger-czukay-der-osten-ist-rot
Der Osten Ist Rot
Upon examining the eventful life of Can bassist Holger Czukay, one might come to the conclusion that this intrepid musician was a loner. His turbulent career exuded an enduring eccentricity governed by a boundless free spirit. Yet Czukay, who passed away unexpectedly last year at the age of 79, constantly emphasized that his creativity was always contingent upon a musical partner, whether that was a skin-and-bones counterpart or an anonymous manifestation that interacted with him through radio waves or, as happened later, the internet. Nonetheless, most of his partners were of flesh and blood. His oeuvre, which is in itself cinematic in nature, boasts a cast worthy of a Martin Scorsese film. Only the most interesting character actors were cast: Brian Eno, Phew, Rolf Dammers, David Sylvian, Annie Lennox, Jah Wobble, his Can bandmates The list could go on and on. Rollings' presence shouldn't be seen as an indication that Blues Traveler have gone country on Hurry Up & Hang Around. Rather, they've adopted the ways of Nashville, turning out honed professional product that's proud of its polish and craft. Cut for cut, Hurry Up & Hang Around is tight and cozy, a showcase for a band with well-honed chops and a desire to reconnect to its roots. Certainly, the album is a far cry from Blow Up the Moon, the 2015 album that found Blues Traveler experimenting with every sound that they'd never tried, so it's a bit of a relief to find the group back on familiar ground, doing what it does best. Some credit must go to Rollings, as there is very little of the excess or silliness that marks so many Blues Traveler records -- the closest Hurry Up & Hang Around comes is "Daddy Went A Giggin," a tongue-in-cheek update on the folk standard "Froggie Went A Courtin'" -- but the album still retains Blues Traveler's gregarious, most precarious character. It's that latter trick that makes Hurry Up & Hang Around something of a comeback: after a spell in the wilderness, the band seems to be back where it belongs, which isn't a bad thing at all for an anniversary album. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Genre: Rock

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/blues-traveler-hurry-up-hang-around_MoM3o_66102a9d-9013-4a90-ad0d-37971c99735e.jpg?v=1758765470
the-fall-i-am-kurious-oranj
I Am Kurious Oranj

I Am Kurious Oranj is a Records & LPs from The Fall

Handling Note: **Please allow an additional 72 hours for this item's shipment.**

Format Detail: LP standard Jacket

Genre: Pop

Format: Vinyl

Internal ID: JITRE

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/foreigner-with-the-21st-century-symphony-orchestra-chorus_f3ivZ.jpg?v=1759383942
cypress-hill-elephants-on-acid-double-colored-vinyl-indie-exclusive
Elephants on Acid (Double Colored Vinyl) (Indie Exclusive)"

Elephants on Acid (Double Colored Vinyl) (Indie Exclusive)" is a Records & LPs from Cypress Hill

Genre: Rock and Pop

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Cypress-Hill-Elephants-on-Acid-Double-Colored-Vinyl-Indie-Exclusive_Pf8o7.jpg?v=1759024255
sister-sparr-gold
Gold

Gold is a Records & LPs from Sister Sparr

Genre: Pop

RSD Date: n/a

Format: Vinyl

Released: 10/12/2018

Hall & Oates: Daryl Hall (vocals, keyboards); John Oates (vocals, guitar).
Additional personnel: Chris Bond (guitar, synthesizer); Clarence McDonald (keyboards); Leland Sklar, Scotty Edwards (bass); Jim Gordon, Ed Greene, Mike Baird (drums); Gary Coleman (percussion); Sandy Allen (backround vocals).
Recorded at Larrabee Sound and Western Sound Recorders, Los Angeles, California.
