Following several lineup changes, Panic! at the Disco operated as the solo project of frontman Urie from 2015 until its discontinuation in 2023.

The band recorded their first demos while they were in high school. Shortly after, they recorded and released their debut studio album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out(2005). Popularized by the second single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", the album was certified triple platinum in the US. In 2006, founding bassist Brent Wilson was fired from the band during an extensive world tour and subsequently replaced by Jon Walker. The band's second album, Pretty. Odd. (2008), was preceded by the single "Nine in the Afternoon". The album marked a significant departure from the sound of the band's debut. Ross and Walker, who favored the band's new direction, departed because Urie and Smith wanted to make further changes to the band's style. Ross and Walker subsequently formed a new band, the Young Veins, leaving Urie and Smith as the sole remaining members of Panic! at the Disco.

Continuing as a duo, Urie and Smith released a new single, "New Perspective", for the movie Jennifer's Body, and recruited bassist Dallon Weekes and guitarist Ian Crawford as touring musicians for live performances. Weekes was later inducted into the band's lineup as a full-time member in 2010. The band's third studio album, Vices & Virtues (2011), was recorded solely by Urie and Smith in 2010, produced by John Feldmann and Butch Walker. Prior to the release of the album, Smith unofficially left the band due to health- and drug-related issues, leaving Urie and Weekes as the remaining members. The duo recruited guitarist Kenneth Harris and drummer Dan Pawlovich as touring musicians for live performances.

In 2015, Smith officially left the band after not performing live with them since his departure in 2013. Shortly thereafter, Weekes reverted to being a touring member once again, resulting in Panic! becoming Urie's solo project. In April 2015, "Hallelujah" was released as the first single from Panic! at the Disco's fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor (2016). In December 2017, Weekes officially announced his departure from the band, with Nicole Row replacing him in the touring lineup. In March 2018, Panic! at the Disco released "Say Amen (Saturday Night)", the lead single from its sixth studio album, Pray for the Wicked(2018), which was released in June. Panic! at the Disco's seventh and final studio album, Viva Las Vengeance, was released on August 19, 2022. On January 24, 2023, Urie officially announced that Panic! at the Disco would disband following the conclusion of the Viva Las Vengeance Tour on March 10 of that year.

Panic At the Disco subverted the potential for a sophomore slump by taking a sharp left turn from the emo-fused pop-punk of their debut, A FEVER YOU CAN'T SWEAT OUT. Rather than retracing the footsteps that brought them popularity, Panic At the Disco made PRETTY. ODD., a headlong dive into pure 1960s pop psychedelia. From the floral print cover-art (framed by a vintage photo album-style border) to the artfully constructed retro symphonic pop inside, PRETTY. ODD. will surprise fans and stump naysayers. Both the self-referential opener, "We're So Starving," and the lead single, "Nine in the Afternoon," with its soaring chorus and echoing horn lines, channel SGT. PEPPERS-era Beatles. The drowsy, lovely "Northern Downpour" and the music hall send-up (complete with added vinyl crackle), "I Have Friends in Holy Spaces," suggest the band has also been listening to the Beatles' WHITE ALBUM. But although PRETTY. ODD. is indebted to the Fab Four, it also has a contemporary feel, and no shortage of guitar-charged rock. Most surprising is that this unlikely experiment succeeds on the merit of its ambition, wit, and fine melodic songwriting.

Genre: Rock

RSD Date: n/a

Format: Vinyl

Released: 02/10/2009

Best Sellers: Top Seller

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Panic-At-The-Disco-PRETTY-ODD_qCJbr.jpg?v=1740713800
panic-at-the-disco-viva-las-vengeance
Viva Las Vengeance

Viva Las Vengeance is a Records & LPs from Panic! At least, that's essentially been the overarching conceptual tone of his band Panic! At the Disco since at least 2011's Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! -- and that tone definitely informs his sixth studio album, 2018's Pray for the Wicked. It's a conceptual notion that also made 2016's surprisingly affecting Frank Sinatra-goes-emo-crooner masterpiece Death of a Bachelor such an unexpected joy. In many ways, Pray for the Wicked feels like a companion album to its predecessor, informed as much by '90s R&B and hip-hop as it is Urie's love of driving, hooky pop/rock. Produced once again by Jake Sinclair, it's a bombastically overstuffed production, full of pounding marching-band beats, tidal-wave synths, horns that punch at bright angles, and a DJ's penchant for twisting and reconfiguring arrangements with Thanos-like disregard for human physics. Throughout it all, Urie paints himself with Michelangelo-esque strokes as a flamboyant cross between James Cagney, Biggie Smalls, and Beyonc?, singing "I'm a moon-walker, I'm like M.J. up in the clouds" on "Dancing's Not a Crime." He also has the same obsessions: religious iconography, the lure of Los Angeles, and the constant struggle between social concern and personal interest. As he sings on the anthemic "Say Amen (Saturday Night)," "And if I try to change my life one more day, there would be nobody else to save/And I can't change into a person I don't wanna be, so/Oh, it's Saturday night." The rest of the album pulses with an equal level of throw-your-hands-in-the-air energy, as Urie soars through the arrangements, his voice as highly resonant and stage-ready as ever. Admittedly, his embrace of slick pop aesthetics, Rat Pack swagger, and cheeky turns of phrase can be a bit much on first listen. But that being said, when it's backed with a strong hook and just a modicum of earnest emotion, as on the sanguine club jam "Hey Look Ma, I Made It," it's hard to deny. ~ Matt Collar

Genre: Pop

Format: Vinyl

Released: 6/22/2018

Best Sellers: Top Seller

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0654/3523/8633/files/Panic-At-The-Disco-Pray-For-The-Wicked-Black-Vinyl-Digital-Download-Card_UXPhA.jpg?v=1742311766
panic-at-the-disco-fever-that-you-cant-sweat-out-fbr-25th-anniversary-edition-colored-vinyl-silver
Fever That You Can't Sweat Out (FBR 25th Anniversary Edition) (Colored Vinyl, Silver)

Fever That You Can't Sweat Out (FBR 25th Anniversary Edition) (Colored Vinyl, Silver) is a Records & LPs from Panic!
