Beautifully assembled, JUST ANOTHER BAND FROM EAST L.A. is not to be confused with their self-released debut album of the same name. The two discs follow a fairly chronological course and the set further benefits from the inclusion of live tracks and previously unreleased studio cuts.\nFrom traditional Mexican songs to Marvin Gaye, Los Lobos invest heart and soul in everything they play. They're also able to shine equally on stage and in the studio. Though Los Lobos have found a fair measure of success in the marketplace over the years, they remain sadly under- appreciated. A true American treasure, this band exudes fire, warmth and a breadth of spirit rare in any band. And they've been at it since the early seventies.
