The title of the album--and the involvement of such luminaries as Angie Stone and the aforementioned D'Angelo--should be a clue as to the sound here. While Saadiq fully avails himself of cutting-edge production and technology, he's more interested in Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye than in R. Kelly. While he doesn't wave his history-conscious tendencies like a flag, there's more melodicism and good old-fashioned soul to these tunes than you'll find of many contemporaneous R\u0026amp;B recordings.","brand":"Raphael Saadiq","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44587008786665,"sku":"6SP5RL-4AS8-00","price":17.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/3523\/8633\/files\/raphael-saadiq-instant-vintage_lsreo.jpg?v=1759199122","url":"https:\/\/www.vibinvinyl.com\/products\/raphael-saadiq-instant-vintage","provider":"Vibin' Vinyl","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
