Having turned 30 the night before, Vaughan approached this gig at \"the most difficult place in the States to get a booking at\" with an abundance of enthusiasm and honor. Mentor John Hammond Sr. was tapped for introductory duties, special outfits and risers where designed and a big band that included singer Angela Strehli, the Roomful Of Blues horn section, brother Jimmie and Dr. John expanded the Vaughan's Double Trouble trio for the only time in the band's history.\r\nThe first half of the set showcased Vaughan's clean, razor-sharp riffing (\"Scuttle Buttin') alongside excellent rhythm playing and a mastery of dynamics (\"Testifyin'). Always quick to credit his influences, Vaughan peppered the latter half of the show with numbers by his heroes Guitar Slim (\"The Things I Used To Do,\" \"Letter To My Girlfriend\"), Albert Collins (\"Iced Over\") and Albert King (\"C.O.D.\").
