Alexis Korner'S Blues Incorporated

Alexis Korner, a one-time actor, radio host, and DJ, as well as a guitar player and pianist, fell in love with the blues after hearing a Jimmy Yancey recording while caught in a World War II German air raid , and without Korner and his Blues Incorporated band, there might well not have been a commercially successful British blues movement in the 1960s. Korner and his band never quite caught on like Cream or the Rolling Stones, two bands Korner influenced in their early years, and he has pretty much been relegated to Godfather of British Blues status, acknowledged but seldom anthologized. This set features his 1965 album Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, with additional live tracks added in. ~ Steve Leggett
