Album Overview
Björk’s Vulnicura is an intensely personal exploration of heartbreak, loss, and recovery built around sweeping string arrangements and fractured electronic production. Originally released in 2015, the album pairs some of Björk’s most emotionally direct songwriting with expansive compositions that move between orchestral drama, experimental electronics, and intimate vocal performances.
Featuring “Stonemilker,” “Lionsong,” “Black Lake,” “Notget,” and “Quicksand,” Vulnicura was written, produced, and recorded with contributions from Arca and The Haxan Cloak. Björk arranged all of the album’s strings, creating a sound that balances acoustic orchestration with dark, deconstructed electronic textures.
This 2022 UK reissue presents Vulnicura across two vinyl records in a gatefold sleeve. It is the first standard vinyl repress of the album issued without the deluxe edition’s acetate slipcase, offering a streamlined physical edition of one of Björk’s most emotionally powerful albums.
