Release Overview
!!! (Chk Chk Chk) deliver one of their defining early tracks with Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story), a two-track CD single released by Touch and Go Records in 2003. Arriving before Louden Up Now, the release captures the band developing the long-form grooves, punk energy, funk rhythms, and electronic experimentation that would become central to their breakthrough sound.
The title track stretches across an extended dance-punk arrangement built around propulsive percussion, bass, guitars, and an insistent rhythmic pulse. It is paired with “Intensifieder (Sunracapellectrohshit Mix 03),” an expansive remix that pushes the band further toward experimental electronic and dance-oriented territory.
This U.S. CD edition was released by Touch and Go Records as catalog number TG247 and offers an early standalone appearance of “Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story)” before the track later appeared on Louden Up Now.

If you’re exploring the formative years of !!!, this single is an essential companion to Louden Up Now.
