Damn Yankees: Tommy Shaw, Ted Nugent (vocals, guitar); Jack Blades (vocals, bass); Michael Cartellone (drums). When you take a look at the line-up for the hard rock supergroup Damn Yankees (which included the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent on guitar, ex-Night Ranger bassist Jack Blades, and ex-Styx guitarist Tommy Shaw), you couldn't fathom how the three could possibly write/play/tour together. But this odd combination scored a big hit with their 1990 self-titled debut. While the music fit in with the then-thriving pop metal genre, Damn Yankees had a broader sound than the younger bands, especially evident in their impeccable vocal harmonies and solid songwriting. Highlights include the rockers "Coming of Age" and "Come Again" (the latter featuring an awesome guitar solo from the Nuge), as well as the Top 10 power ballad, "High Enough."
