The Deviants (formerly The Social Deviants) were a British psychedelic rock band originally active from late 1966 to 1969. The band name was later used as a vehicle for the musical work of writer Mick Farren until his death in 2013. Musically, the Deviants "were something like the British equivalent to the Fugs, with touches of the Mothers of Invention and the British R&B-based rock of the Yardbirds and the Pretty Things. Their roots were not so much in the British Invasion as the psychedelic underground that began to take shape in London in 1966-1967. Mick Farren said that they were influenced by The Who, Charles Mingus, The Velvet Underground and Frank Zappa. The Deviants is their 3rd album and is now available as a numbered limited edition of 1000 copies on translucent yellow coloured vinyl and it contains a replica of the original mini booklet.
