EPMD: Erick Sermon, Parrish "PMD" Smith (vocals). Additional personnel includes: LL Cool J (vocals). Recording information: North Shore Works, Long Island City, NY; Power Play Studios, Long Island City, NY; The Hit Factory, New York, NY. The third album from EPMD, BUSINESS AS USUAL, is the duo's most aptly titled album ever. In 1991, when the album was originally released, EPMD was making a solid claim at becoming one of hip-hop's greatest acts. After two straight gold albums and an ever-growing fan base, BUSINESS AS USUAL could not have been released with better timing. Hard-core tracks such as "I'm Mad," "Gold Digger," and "Manslaughter" firmly entrenched EPMD at the top of the hip-hop food chain. By this time, EPMD had won over its fans by delivering over and over again the typical trunk-funk tracks that they had come to expect. Vocally, the green-eyed bandit and PMD are both on point as usual. The killer cut "Rampage" has a guest appearance from LL Cool J. BUSINESS AS USUAL is just that.
