Album Overview
Fever Ray returned after an eight-year gap with Plunge, the second studio album from Karin Dreijer following Fever Ray’s 2009 self-titled debut. Originally released in 2017, the album pushes deeper into experimental electronic music, synth-pop, and club-oriented production while exploring desire, intimacy, identity, politics, and transformation.
The 11-track album opens with “Wanna Sip” before moving through “Mustn’t Hurry,” “A Part of Us,” “Falling,” “IDK About You,” and “This Country.” The second half includes the title track, “To the Moon and Back,” “Red Trails,” “An Itch,” and the closing “Mama’s Hand.”
Plunge was recorded in Karin Dreijer’s Stockholm studio with collaborators including Paula Temple, Deena Abdelwahed, NÍDIA, Tami T, Peder Mannerfelt, and Johannes Berglund. Its abrasive electronic textures, dance-floor rhythms, and direct songwriting marked a striking evolution from Fever Ray’s debut while retaining Dreijer’s distinctive vocal and production style.
This 2018 deluxe edition presents the complete album across two 180-gram black vinyl records. The records are housed in a gatefold sleeve with a distinctive blood-red gel-filled outer sleeve and include two 24" x 36" double-sided posters plus a download card.
