Album Overview
Hot Chip celebrate two decades of The Warning with this 20th Anniversary Edition of the album that helped establish them as one of the defining electronic bands of the 2000s. Originally released in 2006, the band’s second studio album brought together electronic music, indie pop, alternative dance, synth-driven production, and club rhythms with a playful and distinctly experimental approach to pop songwriting.
Inspired by both the mid-2000s New York music scene and London’s underground club culture, The Warning arrived at a moment dominated by guitar-driven indie music and offered something markedly different. Tracks including “Over and Over,” “And I Was a Boy from School,” “Colours,” and the title track helped the album spend 17 weeks on the UK charts and earn a nomination for the 2006 Mercury Prize.
Released in 2026 through Domino, this 20th Anniversary Edition presents the album across two black vinyl records in a gatefold sleeve with new liner notes by music journalist Kate Hutchinson. This standard 2LP configuration features 11 tracks across four sides of vinyl.
