JP Cooper – Just a Few Folk (CD)
Singer-songwriter JP Cooper returns with Just a Few Folk, his heartfelt third studio album on Universal/Republic Records. Produced by Cam Blackwood and recorded entirely to tape at London’s renowned Toe Rag Studios, the album brings warmth and authenticity to Cooper’s soulful songwriting.
Co-written with acclaimed collaborators including Mr Hudson, Simon Aldred, Jamie Hartman, RØRY, and Neil Ormandy, Just a Few Folk reflects on the everyday stories that shape our lives: family bonds, relationships, and moments of love and loss. From the soulful dedication of Diamonds and Gold to the bittersweet reframing of Sad Song, the record resonates with intimacy and emotional honesty. Lead single Summer of Love channels retro soul and ‘70s grooves, while Waiting on a Blue Sky recalls Cooper’s upbringing in Middleton, Manchester.
