Album Overview
LCD Soundsystem bring their catalog into an intimate live-studio setting on Electric Lady Sessions, a collection recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City during the band’s American Dream era. Captured over three days in January 2018, the sessions present reworked versions of LCD Soundsystem favorites alongside material from American Dream and three carefully chosen covers.
The twelve-track set moves through the band’s catalog with newly recorded performances of “American Dream,” “You Wanted a Hit,” “Get Innocuous!,” “Tonite,” “Home,” and “Oh Baby.” The group also takes on “Seconds,” originally by The Human League, Chic’s “I Want Your Love,” and Heaven 17’s “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang,” connecting LCD Soundsystem’s own music with some of the post-punk, disco, and synth-pop influences that shaped their sound.
This 2019 U.S. edition is pressed on two 180-gram black vinyl records and housed in a gatefold sleeve. Released through DFA Records and Columbia Records, the 2LP configuration spreads the complete twelve-song live session across four sides.
