Album Overview
LCD Soundsystem revisit songs from across their early catalog on London Sessions, a live-in-studio collection recorded in a single day at The Pool/Miloco Studios in South London on June 29, 2010. Conceived in the spirit of classic radio sessions, the album captures James Murphy and the band recreating their music together in real time with a rawer, looser performance style than the original studio recordings.
The nine-track set draws from LCD Soundsystem’s first three studio albums and includes new session performances of “Us V Them,” “All I Want,” “Drunk Girls,” “Get Innocuous!,” “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House,” “All My Friends,” “Pow Pow,” and “I Can Change.” The collection closes with “Yr City Is a Sucker,” bringing one of the band’s early favorites into the same live-session setting.
This 2011 U.S. DFA Records vinyl edition presents the complete nine-track session across two black vinyl records. Housed in a gatefold sleeve, the 2LP configuration gives the extended performances room to unfold across four sides.
