Louisiana native Lil' Boosie has been on the Dirty South scene since the early 2000s, and like many of his Southern contemporaries has a sound founded on hard-hitting beats and tales of street life. A member of Pimp C's Trill Entertainment family, Lil' Boosie has been involved with numerous collaborations, and 2007's Survival of the Fittest is one of his most ambitious. The album gives equal billing to Trill artists Webbie, Foxx, and the Trill Fam, while offering up a satisfying array of heavy street tracks and hardcore raps. Fans of Dirty South rap, and the New Orleans style in particular, should check this out.
