The talented singer/actor here presents the sixth in a collection of releases that have earned him the title the reigning King Of Salsa. Unlike his self-titled crossover 1999 release, this one is in Spanish, but no translation is necessary for the mighty swing generated by Marc Anthony's passionate delivery. From the intense, steamy groove of "Celos" through the emotional pleading of "Viviendo" and the slinky, "Hasta Que Vuelvas Conmingo," Anthony doesn't let up the pressure for a moment. Only the final cut, the guitar-accompanied "Caminare," points to the singer's softer side--mostly, LIBRE is a wild, horn and percussion-inflected ride that'll leave you agape at the artistry of this gifted performer.
