Personnel includes: Casper, Charles Green, Colta, DJ Eric B. Producers: Hudson Beaudy, Frederick L. Johnson, Ken Uchida, DJ Eric B, Men On Business. Mr. C. The Slide Man is in fact Casper, a Chicago DJ who took clubgoers by storm with his "Cha-Cha Slide," an update of the "Electric Slide" dance craze. The album CHA-CHA SLIDE is full of variations on the steps that Mr. C patented, backed by the beats he put together to move the dancers' feet. The success of the album is unusual, as it's not really a pop record per se, but a dance album in the very literal sense of the word. Instead of offering club-style vocalizing, the canny Casper simply intones his directions on how to do the dance steps, punctuated by frequent exhortations designed to get dancers in the mood. Included are three different versions of the "Cha-Cha Slide," along with some other variations including Casper's own take on the venerable "Electric Slide."
