Next Position Please is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Cheap Trick, released in 1983 and produced by Todd Rundgren, the legendary musician and producer best known for his work with Meat Loaf, Grand Funk Railroad, and Badfinger. The album marked a return to the band's signature power-pop roots, deliberately steering away from the heavier production of it's predecessor. Singles on the album include the hit single "I Can't Take It", the cover of the Motors' classic "Dancing the Night Away" and "Next Position Please". Former drummer Bun E. Carlos has frequently cited it as Cheap Trick's most underrated album, praising Rundgren's production work. It remains a highly valued gem among power-pop enthusiasts and is an important part of Cheap Trick's 1980s catalogue. Next Position Please is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on translucent blue coloured vinyl and includes an insert.
