Producers include: Kevin Cronin, Gary Richrath, Kevin Beamish. Also available with "You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish" on 1 cassette. While the voice of Kevin Cronin is probably the best known ingredient of the REO Speedwagon sound, guitarist Gary Richrath's smoking leads are also an important element (if an unfortunately oft-overlooked one), and their last release of the '70s--1979's NINE LIVES--contains some of Richrath's best six-string work. While the album doesn't contain any compositions that made a dent in the singles charts, NINE LIVES is another consistent REO release, and marks the final rock-based release before Cronin and company stormed the charts with their next studio release, the 1981 mega-hit HI-INFIDELITY. NINE LIVES contains some of REO's best rock numbers, such as "Back on the Road Again," "Only the Strong Survive," "Heavy on Your Love," and "Easy Money."
