Tracks 9-12 are digitally remastered. 1974's ONE MIGHTY LOVE found the Spinners well on their way to becoming one of the most artistically and commercially successful soul acts of the '70s. After alighting on an unmistakably winning formula with their self-titled 1973 effort, this follow-up delivered more of the same. Producer Thom Bell was back in the director's chair, and his lush arrangements and fine sense of sonic detail are worth noting on both the mid-tempo groovers and the slower ballads. Bell also wrote some of the material here, and his snappy "I'm Coming Home" is one of the highlights. Of the ballads, "Love Don't Love Nobody" stands out, thanks in large part to Philippe Wynne's soulful, acrobatic tenor. Yet the entire album is solid, and a must for Philly Soul fans. Note: the CD reissue includes four additional bonus cuts from an earlier recording session.
