Booker Ervin – Structurally Sound (Blue Note Tone Poet Edition) (180G) [LP]

Description

Best known for his work with Charles Mingus, saxophonist Booker Ervin was a distinctive soloist with an assertive sound. One of his pinnacle statements as a leader was Structurally Sound, cut for Pacific Jazz in 1966 with a quintet featuring Charles Tolliver, John Hicks, Red Mitchell, and Lenny McBrowne. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket.
