Album Overview
The Collection brings together a selection of Talking Heads recordings from the latter half of the band’s career, drawing from material released between 1984 and 1988. Issued by EMI Gold in 2007, the compilation combines live performances with studio recordings from Little Creatures, True Stories, and Naked.
The collection opens with live versions of “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House,” and “Girlfriend Is Better” before moving into later studio favorites including “The Lady Don’t Mind,” “Television Man,” “Love for Sale,” “Radio Head,” and “Road to Nowhere.” Tracks from Naked, including “Blind,” “Totally Nude,” “(Nothing But) Flowers,” and “Mommy, Daddy, You and I,” round out the 13-track set.
Rather than following the band chronologically from its earliest recordings, The Collection focuses on Talking Heads’ mid-to-late-1980s work while incorporating key live performances from Stop Making Sense.
