Album Overview
Talking Heads embraced a brighter, more direct pop sensibility on True Stories, the band’s seventh studio album. Originally released in 1986, the record was created alongside David Byrne’s film of the same name and features Talking Heads performing songs connected to the movie’s eccentric portrait of small-town American life.
The album includes the energetic “Wild Wild Life,” the guitar-driven “Love for Sale,” and fan favorites including “Radio Head,” “Dream Operator,” and “City of Dreams.” Across nine tracks, Talking Heads blend new wave, art rock, pop rock, and rhythmic influences into one of the most melodic and accessible releases from their later catalog.
This 2023 U.S. vinyl edition marks the album’s first vinyl reissue since its original release, returning True Stories to black LP vinyl through Sire Records.
