Album Overview
Talking Heads embraced a brighter, more direct pop sensibility on True Stories, the band’s seventh studio album. Originally released in 1986, the record was created alongside David Byrne’s film of the same name and features Talking Heads performing songs connected to the movie’s eccentric portrait of small-town American life.
The album includes the energetic “Wild Wild Life,” the guitar-driven “Love for Sale,” and fan favorites including “Radio Head,” “Dream Operator,” and “City of Dreams.” Across nine tracks, Talking Heads blend new wave, art rock, and pop rock into one of the most melodic and accessible releases from their later catalog.
This limited-edition 2023 pressing was released as part of Rhino’s Rocktober vinyl campaign and presents True Stories on translucent red LP vinyl. The Rocktober edition was offered through select brick-and-mortar record stores and marked the album’s return to vinyl for the first time since its original release.
