Weezer opens a window into the very beginning of the band with 1192, a collection built from newly recovered recordings of their first studio sessions from November 1992. These early performances capture Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Jason Cropper, and Pat Wilson before the release of the band’s self-titled debut, preserving formative versions of songs that would later become central to the Blue Album era.

The 10-track collection includes alternate takes and early mixes of “No One Else,” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Undone – The Sweater Song,” “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here,” and “Surf Wax America.” Acoustic, band, and stripped-back vocal-and-guitar mixes reveal familiar songs at an earlier stage of development while highlighting the energy of Weezer’s original lineup.

Founding bassist Matt Sharp rediscovered the original multitrack reel while reviewing archival recordings. Working with producer and engineer Joe Chiccarelli, the sessions were remixed from the original analog tape using a fully analog process designed to preserve the character and intent of the 1992 recordings.

This September 2026 edition presents 1192 on standard black vinyl through Ernest Jenning Record Co. It follows the earlier limited Record Store Day grey-vinyl pressing while making the archival collection available in a standard black-vinyl configuration.
