Album Overview
Pinkerton is Weezer’s second studio album, originally released in 1996. Produced by the band, the record moved away from the polished sound of their debut toward a rawer and more personal approach built around distorted guitars, melodic hooks, and emotionally direct songwriting.
The album features “The Good Life,” “El Scorcho,” and “Pink Triangle,” alongside tracks including “Tired of Sex,” “Across the Sea,” “Falling for You,” and the closing “Butterfly.” Over time, Pinkerton developed a strong cult following and became an influential release within alternative rock and emo.
This 2016 reissue presents the complete ten-track album on 120-gram black vinyl. The remastered pressing was Direct Metal Mastered and cut at Abbey Road Mastering Studios, and includes a 12" × 12" insert.

Why You’ll Love It
Pinkerton pairs Weezer’s power-pop hooks with a rougher, more emotionally exposed sound than their debut. Its combination of alternative rock, emo, distorted guitars, and deeply personal songwriting helped the album grow from an initially divisive release into one of the most celebrated records in Weezer’s catalog.
