Celebrate Earth Day with The Backseat Lovers exclusive pressing of “When We Were Friends” (Earth Day Exclusive) – Limited Edition, Individually Numbered On-Disc Center Labels.  Featured with a groundbreaking innovation in sustainable record pressing production: 100% Recyclable Eco-friendly injection molding process is transforming how records are made—without compromising on sound quality.

Traditional vinyl records are pressed using PVC, a plastic derived from fossil fuels that is difficult to recycle and harmful to the environment. This new method of pressing records replaces PVC with PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a more sustainable and recyclable material. This switch not only reduces environmental impact but also enhances the recyclability of records.

By adopting an electric injection molding process instead of traditional steam-powered pressing, it achieves over 60% energy savings. This method eliminates the need for steam boilers, reducing both energy consumption and production time.

From material selection to production methods, every aspect of the injection mold process is designed to minimize environmental impact. This includes reducing waste, lowering energy consumption, and using materials that are safer for both humans and the planet.

The injection molding technique allows for more precise replication of audio grooves, resulting in records that are flatter, more durable, and exhibit less surface noise. In fact, these records are reported to be eight times more durable than conventional vinyl.
